The 12 Slays of Christmas

PK-3-Looks-2.jpg

At Salon PK, we indulge in the most provocative conversations that give us life as a woman. We’re like a Sorority, Praise & Worship Team, and Glam Twerk Squad all in one lol! So as we bring in the Holiday Spirit of Joy and Happiness, here are our collective “12 Ways to Slay” this Christmas for our Hair, Bae, & Money Bag Goals as we slay our way into 2018!

1.  MAKE YOUR BEAUTY A PRIORITY
When you look good you feel good, and when you feel good, you slay! Just like you prioritize your health, prioritize your beauty.
Tip: Commit to a monthly regimen at the salon, workout session, and facial/mani-pedi.

2. MOISTURE MOISTURE MOISTURE!

The movie Zoolander said it best…”moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty” lol. Moisture is one of the major keys to healthy beautiful hair, so double down on it.
Tip: Shampoo your hair once a week

3. TRY AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT STYLES THIS YEAR

When you reinvent yourself with a new look every major season, you also re-energize yourself and find new life! Become a little more unpredictable throughout the year.  Let IG become your BFF for exploring new styles, and a great place to start is always @SalonPK

4. KEEP AN EDGE TAMER BRUSH & MASCARA IN YOUR PURSE

In 2018 we’re going to keep our edges on point, and our grays covered up, by keeping that edge tamer brush and mascara on deck!

5. 1 YOLO FANTASY FULFILLED!!!

If you’re bored you’re boring…& that’s where “problems” start! So find at least one special intimate time to “show out” and let your man cheat on you…with your very own exotic alter ego! #WhatsYourFantasyBae!!!

6. FLEX WITH THE “COOK COOK

Sometimes we let our Boss Bae role in the workplace take over our Mommy/Wifey role at home. So find 1 day out of the week to throw down for your man. Or, just go off every 2 weeks, where he’s bragging about you at work and has left overs for days.
Tip: Get a crockpot – so you can cook & be on the go. That’s how I ran a salon, raised my boys, and took care of my hubby… all at once.

7. SMOOCHES

Don’t let kissing become a lost art you haven’t done in over a decade. It’s not just for high schoolers, it’s a sign of affection for us all. A special kiss every day on the lips, neck, cheek, or forehead – keeps the relationship sweet!

8. HOLD YOUR TONGUE

We can be so independent, and such perfectionists, that we can be so sharp with our words – cutting our man in ways that we shouldn’t. Try at least 1 day a week where you enjoy his company, hold your tongue, and refrain from complaining. If you can accomplish this, the other 6 days of the week, when needed…you have the right to let him have it lol.

9. START A FUN AF SIDE HUSTLE WITH A HOMEGIRL

Try a new money move, and make it fun by teaming up with a BFF

10. FIND A NEW INVESTMENT

With so many emerging opportunities to make money, let’s get it! Whether it’s Tech Stocks, Real Estate, or Bitcoin – just take a bite size risk and see what type of return you can get.

11. FIND THE OPPORTUNITY DURING THE DOWNSIDE

The biggest opportunities often come during the toughest times. So regardless of a turn in the economy, new laws like net neutrality, or even a downturn in your personal life – find a way to see an opportunity to rise from it and benefit financially.

12. PAY IT FORWARD

Find something, anything, that matters to you that you use as a resource for free, and give a generous donation to it. It could be a nonprofit charity, mentee, or relative that always watches your kids for free. Recently I donated to Wikipedia. For me it was like giving to an OG relative, because they’ve looked out and given so much free knowledge to me on call. So pay it forward and keep the good times and karma flowing.

In 2018 we’re about to have our hair snatched, our bae tight, and our money good! I can feel it, this year is going to be toooooo lit! Ready…Set…CRUSH!
